James came to our home today and tuned our Yamaha grand piano. Our piano belonged to my wife’s mother who studied at Juilliard and played at a very high-level. It hadn’t been played much since we acquired it and was really in need of a tuning especially since we had it moved to our home. We could not be more pleased with the work that James did with this piano to bring it back in tune and to thoroughly clean it like it was his own. We will definitely recommend James to all of our friends. How fortunate we are to receive his excellent service..

I’ll start by saying this is THE tuning service to turn to in the greater Wilmington area. I received James’ service on a piano that hadn’t been tuned in months; it had definitely become an ear-sore. One visit from James later, and I do in fact LOVE my piano again! I highly recommend having Dr. Abernathy as your regular piano tuner. He's extremely knowledgeable, professional and willing to give advice on how to care for your piano. He tuned a 113 year old baby grand, we recently acquired, to perfection and gave it a sprucing that was much needed. He also listed our old piano, at no charge (which we'd been trying to get rid of for weeks) and had a call the next day! On top of all that, his prices are very reasonable. I honestly could not recommend a better piano tuner! Thank you again Dr. James!!

Did an amazing job. Really took his time tuning, almost four hours and at a discount rate for first timers! Said he will come back in a month if needed and check piano again for retuning for free! Definitely would recommend!

I recently purchased an older used piano on Craigslist to pursue a dream of learning to play. Having no experience with pianos, I could still tell that in was in dire need of tuning. I reached out to James who quickly came out to my home to start working on my project of a piano. James was very knowledgeable and told me what he was doing every step of the way. Within a short period of time, he turned a terrible sounding piano into a beautifully playing instrument. After one week, James checked back in on me to make sure the piano was still playing as it did when he left. It is a great feeling to know that if anything with the piano goes wrong, James will be right around the corner to come over and fix it right up.
